The County Seniors Championship will be held this year at Rothbury Golf Club. Contrary to popular belief this is not simply a Scratch event. The competition is open to all with a limit of 20 for handicapping purposes. There is a Prize, The Tim Bull Cup, for the best net score over the first 18 holes. The Gross prize is the Paddy Baker cup which is indeed over the full 36 holes. A recent addition is the Richard Johnson trophy for those over 65.
Rothbury, for those who haven't played it yet is a delightfully extended 18 holes course. Friendly and welcoming with a course to be proud of. I hope to see you there.
The Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 14th October at the Northumberland Golf Club
Richard Farrelly was voted in as Secretary/Treasurer and the vacant position on the committee was taken by Denis Martin. Paul Clarke continues as Captain for his second year.
A vote of thanks was passed for all the hard work our retiring Secretary, Tim Bull, has put in and wish him well with his golf in the coming months. Our thanks also go to all the clubs who have helped us throughout the year with special mention for our hosts of the day. They were Newbiggin, Whitley Bay, Stocksfield, Arcot Hall, The Northumberland and Berwick on Tweed (Goswick)
