The NUGC, as the men’s amateur golf governing body in Northumberland, focuses on administering county championships, team competitions, and coaching programs. Affiliated with England Golf, the NUGC manages course measurements and slope ratings for its member clubs and serves as the local authority on the R&A Rules of Golf and Handicapping.

The season got underway with a 7-3 victory over Cumbria, in a friendly, Development Squad match, at Appleby Golf Club on Saturday 30 March.

On Saturday 30 March 2024, Cumbria host a ten per side friendly against Northumberland. This is the second year we have had this friendly fixture, which is for the Development Squads of both Counties. Appleby Golf Club are kindly hosting the event, with the first tee time being 12 noon.
