On Monday 20 May, Newbiggin GC were the excellent hosts for the above match. The course was extremely well presented and especially considering the very harsh weather conditions that all golf courses have suffered over recent months.The match was played in brilliant sunshine but with a fresh and cool light northerly breeze.

Support from both Northumberland and Durham Executives was there in abundance. Special thanks to Paul Brennan and John Bell for the morning and afternoon starting duties.

Northumberland had 2 new players making their debuts namely Kevin Harmison and Ken Lansbury. Thanks to both for turning out and supporting the team.

Durham who were the Northern Counties Senior Big 6 winners at the Isle of Man in 2023 fielded a very strong team.

Northumberland and Durham shared the spoils 3-3 in the morning Greensomes. In the afternoon Fourballs Northumberland prevailed the winners by 9-3 with the final score a very creditable win of 12-6 win by Northumberland . The results sheet is attached for reference.

The next 3 Senior fixtures for Northumberland are away to Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire. A very tough run of fixtures. The first of these fixtures Seniors is away to Cheshire at Astbury GC on Monday 17th June 2024. Team details, travel arrangements and on the day match arrangements will follow in due course.
