Final

A bright and windy morning greeted the players and spectators, the strong winds making putting tricky. At lunch after the first 18 holes, honours were even and the match all square.

The match remained tight, until 5 birdies in 7 holes from Andrew put him on the cusp of victory. Russell kept battling, eventually losing on the 33rd hole.

Congratulations to Andrew on winning his 4th County Championship.

Finally a huge thank you to all at Ponteland Golf Club, the course was presented immaculately and provided a stout challenge to all. The food and hospitality was also first class, the ongoing support to County golf is greatly appreciated.
