The season got underway with a 7-3 victory over Cumbria, in a friendly, Development Squad match, at Appleby Golf Club on Saturday 30 March.

The weather was extremely kind and the views were simply stunning, with the Golf course being in excellent condition.

There were wins for Nicky Maddison, James Cram, Lee Matthewson, Andrew Griffiths, Olly Drake, Karl Mossom and Rob Henderson. Narrow defeats for Steven Ashley, Ben Lloyd and Ben Brown.

The match was very important, with 5 of the Team playing their first game for the County.

A big thank you to Simon Young, the Cumbria Team and Executive for kindly hosting the match. A final thanks to Appleby Golf Club for giving up their course and looking after us so well.

We now look forward to the regular golfing season, starting on Saturday 6 April at Bamburgh Golf Club, who are hosting the first two rounds of the Inter County Foursomes.
